August 2018 -

My daughter was recently married here in Cornish and we used Scarlet Begonia’s to organize the event, as both my daughter and her fiancé were from the DC area (she wanted to return to her childhood home to be married).  We weren’t sure we needed a wedding planner, as we are all pretty competent people, but I can tell you it was one of the best decisions we could have made! From the initial contact to the weekend after the wedding, Meg Tenney and her team were available to us at the drop of a hat and no question was too big or too small. Early conversations were great brainstorming sessions wherein Meg did lots of listening and questioning to try to catch my daughter’s vision for the weekend. Helpful guidelines quickly narrowed choices while others were investigated more fully. Meg’s experience and connections with local vendors meant that general pricing information was quickly available and decisions could be made easily. Unusual requests (gold flatware) were pursued without hesitation and site adaptations were made in a timely fashion. The weekend of the wedding was a masterpiece of coordination from the rehearsal at St Gaudens (yes you can have the ceremony there, but no reception) to the ceremony to the cocktail hour through the reception, Meg and her people were here there and everywhere, making things happen, keeping the flow going and communicating with everyone. Meg is the perfect combination of supremely capable, gracious and unflappable, perfect for an anxious family! The reception itself was a fairyland! The tent was one of those beautiful tall ones so the ceiling was lofty and strung with lights. The greenery and table settings were gorgeous and the band perfect. We had amazing food and wonderful moments throughout the evenings before shuttling everyone away for the evening (transportation also arranged by Meg, of course).. We even had a few newborns set up nearby with babysitters screened by (yes, you guessed it) Meg.  All I can say is she made it all happen and gave our family the dream wedding experience we all hoped for . Book. Her. Now!

Meg Tenney took our vision for our wedding and made it even better than we’d hoped, to the extend that when I first saw the finished reception tent, I teared up! She already knew the right vendors for our flowers, tent, and caterer, and presented us with options for napkins, chairs, and plates without overwhelming us with choices. Meg is incredibly detail oriented; she took every Pinterest picture I sent her and melded them together perfectly, running set up for both the ceremony and reception. If the planning process hit a snag, she didn’t come to us with the problem without a solution to go with it. Meg found us our idyllic reception location when we found out my parents’ house wouldn’t work, she hand-polished over 100 gorgeous antique candlesticks for our table settings, and she sledge-hammered stakes into the reception lawn to hold up lights around the perimeter. Meg can do it all! I’m endlessly glad we found her, especially because we were planning our wedding from several states away and weren’t always able to vet our vendors or sites ourselves. I’ve told my sister that even if she gets married out of the country, she needs to have Meg fly in and run her wedding!
Thank you thank you!

Because my review will be long, I will make sure to get the main points out there first. Meg Tenney is nothing less than a genius and if you hire her your wedding and reception will be impeccably decorated, highly personalized, and flow smoothly from start to finish. From the moment we first spoke I knew that she was going to make our wedding more beautiful, fun and inspiring than we could have ever achieved alone. Boy was I right. In pictures, anecdotes and kind words from our friends, family and vendors we have seen the product of Meg's hard work, a truly enchanting day. A reception in a field with is a blank canvas in the most wonderful and worst way. Meg and my family worked until the very last minute to reshape the space into an artists dream. Each of the highly personal touches echoed who Austin and I are as a couple and no one left the event without heavy praise of the flowers, album seating chart, hanging picture frames or any of the other unique details. I am in awe of Meg's talent for managing people, crazy schedules, and decor. Hands down she was the most valuable contributor to our day. Thank you, Meg for showing us so much love and understanding during a crazy and wonderful time. What an incredible start to a life together. All our love,

Where do I start - can't say enough about Meg Tenney and what a great great job she did for my daughter's wedding. It was, hands down, the best wedding decision we made. Meg had many great suggestions, and pitched in to go above and beyond. She took charge to make sure the wedding stayed on schedule and she added some touches that just made the ceremony and reception so beautiful. I could relax on the day of the wedding knowing that Meg was taking care of all of the details on the day of the wedding, and when we arrived, it was so much better than I could have ever anticipated. So thank you Meg and Scarlet Begonias for taking away some of the stress and making sure my daughter's wedding was as perfect as we hoped it would be!
